Stoke-on-Trent has been world renowned for its ceramics for nearly three centuries. Manufacturers such as Wedgwood, Spode, Royal Doulton and Moorcroft have led international design and innovation. The area and the industry now provide a base for forward looking ceramic designers, technologists and makers seeking to affirm the region as the birthplace of the international ceramic industry.

The City-wide festival presents a vibrant, accessible and ambitious programme open to all, combing unique ceramic exhibitions, expert lectures and presentations, guided gallery tours alongside an International Design competition. For the avid collector the festival provides a unique opportunity to purchase traditional and contemporary ceramics from across the UK and in particular from Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.
